Editing

I enjoy the “magic” of editing — taking raw footage and giving it life, educating, and telling a story.

I can edit a project from start to finish, rough to final cut. I have developed an ‘editor’s eye’ over the years and have a good sense of both the essential and the extraneous, and what makes a piece engaging.

Staying mindful of the ultimate objective for a piece is imperative. Who is the audience? Where and how will the piece be viewed or marketed? What is the message to be communicated?

My studio is equipped with Mac-based Final Cut Pro editing software, as well as analog, tape-based formats. It is available to both experienced editors and newcomers. I can teach people to edit and they come away satisfied with their completed projects and a new skill.
